How to lock hidden files

Some Windows applications uses MRU feature (e.g. list of Most Recently Used documents in MS Office applications) for quick access to them in future. To prevent access to hidden documents/files via application MRU feature, you can use Hide Files Lock feature.

If program is in visible mode you have to click to Hide Files Control Panel shortcut within Windows Start menu (as below):

Start > Programs > Hide Files > Hide Files Control Panel shortcut

If Hide Files is in stealth mode you have to press hotkey combination (default hotkey is Ctrl+Alt+Shift+H) to run Hide Files Control Panel. You will get following window:



Click to this button to lock hidden files

Note:
When Lock feature is enabled, no one have access to hidden files until they will be unlocked again. You can lock any files but except *.sys *.vxd *.dll *.exe files to prevent system crash.
